National Association of Parliamentarians Youth Groups

Would you like to start a Youth group?

Youth Groups.  To qualify for youth group membership in the National Association of Parliamentarians, a group shall be composed of youth interested in parliamentary procedure who are enrolled in an educational institution or are members of a youth association and have organized as a group for study under the sponsorship and continuing supervision of an NAP member. (dues - $27 for Youth Group)

Article IX, (Committees), Section 1H Youth Committee.  
The Youth Committee shall:

  1. encourage participation by youth in the programs of NAP;

  2. develop methods of attracting and retaining youth in NAP;

  3. promote partnerships and increased participation in joint ventures with other youth organizations in support of their parliamentary and leadership development programs; and

  4. work cooperatively with the NAP Educational Foundation to promote youth activities.

Article XII - Standing Committees, Section 2I
The Youth Committee shall:

  1. Encourage participation by young people in the programs of NAP, OSAP and local units;

  2. Develop methods of attracting and retaining youthful members in NAP, OSAP and local units;

  3. Promote joint activities between youth organizations through parliamentary events of OSAP and local units;

  4. Develop and maintain a networking system with contacts between youth "advisors", OSAP and local units; and

  5. Encourage members of OSAP and local units to work with youth groups on a volunteer basis.

DO YOU NEED PARLIAMENTARY COACHES OR JUDGES?

The Oklahoma State Association of Parliamentarians Youth Committee Chairman has a list of members who have expressed an interest in serving as parliamentary coaches or judges and can quickly match members with activities. If you need someone to serve as a parliamentary coach or judge for your school, please e-mail the Youth Committee Chairman at least five days in advance of the event and every effort will be made to find a parliamentarian for your event.
